Rekonstrukcija i izgradnja nove zadarske rive

The Port of Zadar Authority was established in 1997 by a Decision of the Government of the Republic of Croatia which was adopted at a session held on 13 February 1997, and entered into force by publication in the Official Gazette on 18 February 1997.

It is responsible for management, construction and use of ports open to international public traffic which, due to their size and importance, have been declared ports of special international economic interest to the Republic of Croatia.

Ports of special international economic interest for the Republic of Croatia managed by the Port of Zadar Authority are:

  • Port of Zadar – passenger port
  • Port of Gaženica – passenger port
  • Port of Gaženica – cargo port
  • Port of Vela Lamjana – fishing port

The main activities of the Port of Zadar Authority are:

  • taking care of construction, maintenance, management, protection and development of the maritime domain which represents the port area,
  • construction and maintenance of port infrastructure, which is financed by the budget of the Port Authority’s founder,
  • professional supervision of construction, maintenance, management and protection of the port area (port infrastructure and superstructure),
  • ensuring continuous and undisturbed port traffic, technical and technological unity and safety of navigation,
  • ensuring the provision of services of common interest or services for which there is no economic interest of other economic operators,
  • coordination and supervision of the activities of concessionaires performing economic activities in the port area,
  • taking decisions on the establishment and management of free zone in the port area in accordance with the regulations governing free zones,
  • other activities prescribed by the law.
