Name of the project:

Reconstruction and construction of the port infrastructure City of Zadar – Peninsula

Project description:

The project comprises the reconstruction of the quay wall of the Coast of King Petar Krešimir IV, 908,82 m long and 5,0 to 5,6 m wide, as well as the reconstruction (of approx. 64,5 m) and extension (15 m long) of the existing pier. The extended pier will have the same dimensions it had when it was first built a hundred years ago as a ship dock. According to the project documents, the existing characteristics of the area will not change, and the existing situation regarding the configuration of the waterfront, slopes and all used materials will be taken into consideration.

The project also envisages the reconstruction of the coastal hinterland of the Liburnian Coast, 600 m long, and 5 m wide. The reconstruction will include the following important elements: arranging of the waterfront, solving the rainwater drainage system, installing three new power cabinets and related water supply and electrical installation networks.

Accordingly, the reconstruction will take place in three phases, and the deadline for the completion of all works is 27 months.

Objectives and expected results of the project:

The objective of the project is the reconstruction and the extension of the Coast of King Petar Krešimir IV, the pear and the Liburnian Coast, on the area of the Zadar Port – Peninsula, for the purpose of providing conditions for a regular and safe performance of coastal liner maritime traffic between Zadar and neighbouring islands, which will improve conditions for increasing the quality of life of the islanders.

Total value of the project and the amount co-financed by EU funds:

The total value of the project is 8.957.381,13 EUR (67.489.388,11 HRK), out of which the eligible costs are 8.840.419,15 EUR (66.608.138,11 HRK).

The amount of the EU contribution is 7.514.356,28 EUR (56.616.917,39 HRK).

The amount of the national contribution is 1.326.062,87 EUR (9.991.220,72 HRK).

Project implementation period:

The project implementation period is from 3.7.2020 to 31.12.2023.

Project progress – timeline:

  • May, 2020 The Government, at its session, took a Decision amending the Decision on the establishment of the Port of Zadar Authority by which the area of the City port basin has been extended, thus enabling the application of the project for the European funds.

  • July, 2020 Solemn signing of the contract for the project of the reconstruction of the Zadar waterfront. The contract was signed by the State Secretary at the Ministry of Sea, Traffic and Infrastructure, Josip Bilaver and the Port of Zadar Authority’s General Manager, Robert Škifić, in the presence of the Zadar County Prefect, Božidar Longin as well as the Mayor of Zadar, Branko Dukić

  • January, 2021 Contract signed for the External Project Implementation services with the company Moneo Savjetovanje d.o.o., whose tender in the amount of HRK 382,122.00 without VAT (HRK 477,652.50 with VAT) obtained the highest number of points in the public tender procedure in accordance with the most economically advantageous tender criterion.

  • February, 2021 Contract signed for the Promotion and Visibility services during the project implementation with the company Ross d.o.o, whose tender in the amount of HRK 193.900,00 without VAT (HRK 242.375,00 with VAT) obtained the highest number of points in the public tender procedure in accordance with the most economically advantageous tender criterion.

  • April, 2021 Contract signed for the Project Manager services with the Joint venture AD CON d.o.o. and Exstructa d.o.o., whose tender in the amount of HRK 577,000.00 without VAT (721.250,00 with VAT) obtained the highest number of points in the public tender procedure in accordance with the most economically advantageous tender criterion.

  • June, 2021 Contract signed for the services of Construction Supervision and Coordinator II on the project “Reconstruction and construction of port infrastructure City of Zadar – Peninsula” with Joint venture Aniva-Inženjering d.o.o. Zadar; Idassacommerce d.o.o. Zadar; Certified Civil Engineer Office Draženko Bovan, whose tender in the amount of HRK 580,000.00 without VAT, or HRK 725,000.00 with VAT, obtained the highest number of points in accordance with the most economically advantageous tender criterion.

  • June, 2021 Contract signed for the construction works on the project “Reconstruction and construction of the port infrastructure City of Zadar – Peninsula” with Joint venture Adriaing d.o.o. with headquarters in Koper, the Republic of Slovenia and Adriaing d.o.o. Buje whose tender in the amount of HRK 47,798,253.94 without VAT, or HRK 59,747,817.43 with VAT obtained the highest number of points in accordance with the most economically advantageous tender criterion.
